The IB Council of Earl Wooster High School is the associate student union (student body) for students attending International Baccalaureate programmes (the IB MYP, Diploma, Career, or Course tracks) at Wooster High School. Our mission is to help Wooster’s IB students connect, prepare for/complete rigorous course requirements, and make their voices heard to the school’s administration. We create and maintain programmes and events that help fulfil our mission, including workshops and revision (study) groups that help students complete major tasks like the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) programmes.

The IB Council also operates Wooster’s IB Ambassadors programme, an association of Wooster IB students who travel and promote the Diploma and Career programmes to prospective students at middle schools across the Washoe County School District.

Governance

Wooster High School’s IB Council, as an associate student union, is governed by a constitution (see below) that defines the mission and structures of the Council and its’ operations. Day-to-day operations of the Council are led by the Cabinet, the principal governing body that executes the demands of the Constitution by passing “regulations” (bylaws) and coordinating practical initiatives.

All members of the Cabinet are duly elected through democratic processes that follow the rule of law. These processes are outlined in Articles III, IV, and V of the Constitution.
